Wedding Gifts

Recommended Posts

Also, you will get taxed for any gifts you receive on board!

We posted a note on our Web site saying please don't bring gifts on board. A couple of weeks before the wedding we're going to mail out some flyers with last minute information (the ones Carnival says to give to your guests) and underline the part that says no gifts!

I don't know if you are planning on having a reception or celebration back home when you return, but we are and in our last informational letter to guests we sent out info about gifts that said:

Gifts:

Due to customs regulations, we are unable to accept gifts on the cruise. We will be having a reception at home and should you choose to bring a gift, we can accept them at that time. (something like that, can't remember exactly what it said, but that was the idea)

According to general etiquette, wedding gifts aren't supposed to even be brought to a wedding, they are supposed to be mailed. But I know a lot of people don't follow that rule. Hopefully guests will use a little common sense?
