Swim/snorkel with sharks?

Hey y'all!! I wasn't sure where to post this.... But since we will be using Carnival, I figured this is the best spot.

Are there any good locations to swim/snorkel with sharks (the friendly kind:D)? Maybe even stingrays at the same time? I was looking at Belize, but I heard about the issue and I don't want to book a cruise for a port that we might not be able to go to. Thanks!

We have actually booked in Belize a snorkle trip to Shark Ray Ally in Caye Caulker. I hope everything is resolved by my cruise in April. You can also swim with the rays in the Cayman Islands. We have done this twice, there were no sharks involved.

There are quite a few spots in the carib that offer swimming with small, Nurse type sharks. I have tried to set up a Cage type dive to see the big boys, but they are few and far between. Off California cost seems the best option for that type of encounter.

My upcoming cruise in 2 weeks will be stopping in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. When browsing Carnival's excursions, it appears that they offer a Dunn's River Falls and Shark Encounter excursion, although I haven't really heard anything about it. But that experience is offered there.

We did that twice. once in '05, then last summer. The first time, we saw a few nurse sharks at our first stop, then they disappeared when we got in the water.

The 2nd time, no sharks. We were told that the cruise traffic scared them off, they have moved on.
