BelAirMom Posted February 16, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2011 We are going on the Freedom's Eastern itinerary (Coco Cay/St Thomas/St Maarten) and wondered if anyone got vaccinations pre-cruise? We are traveling with our 12 year old if that makes a difference...thanks!
barriecruiser Posted February 16, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2011 My husband and I have never gotten pre-cruise vaccinations, but my parents did before our last cruise. They got the twinrix vaccinations.
Maybaybie10 Posted February 16, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2011 I don't believe any vaccines are required (we are going Eastern too), but we did have our kids (7 and 12) get the Hep A vaccine since it was readily available at our pediatrician's office and they were in there for their yearly physicals anyway. The Hep A vaccine is given in a 2-shot series. The first shot is given and then the 2nd one is given 6 months after the first. They are in no way required for the trip, but since I was there I just had them done. Enjoy your trip!
