I'm trying to decide on what cabin to book. I'm sure I wont be able to afford over the cheapest balcony. Is there any areas to stay away from? Has anyone stayed on the inside cabins on deck 12?

Thanks for any help this will be my 1st cruise on NCL.

Remember to check directly above and below you for pools, clubs, restaurants etc. They can be noisy. We also tend to avoid cabins near the elevators due to traffic.

If there are any available, I always recommend a balcony cabin on the Aft (very back of the ship) as it is the most quiet area of the ship, however on the Star be careful booking an Aft cabin on deck 8. It would be right above a big club/disco and you will hear, at least as it is right now, thumping and music while it is open

Oh NO!!! Just booked an aft balcony on deck 8:rolleyes: Our NCL travel consultant said there was nothing to worry about as far as noise? Hmmmmmmm:confused: I do have a question about the aft balcony though. We've only ever been on an aft balcony on Carnival Glory, and the way the ship is designed in the back, each deck jets out a little as you go down, so like the deck above us could see us and thus we could see the people on the deck below us etc....and then the walls between us and the cabins next to us were angled, so we could stand at the rail and touch the guys next to us.....No privacy. However we loved the added deck space of the aft. My DH was a bit hesitant on booking the aft again, because of this but the Star looks like it is not like this. The back of the ship looks more straight, thus looks like the balconies on the aft will have more privacy. Could you tell me if this is the case, or will we be able to see those above and below us and to either side. I may have to change rooms is this is the case, as DH will not be happy.
