Packing advice for fly, cruise + drive trip

Hello,

My family and I are organising a Carnival cruise out of Long Beach and was wondering if anyone has any packing tips for taking enough stuff to last 3+ weeks?

 

We are flying over from Sydney, doing a 7 day cruise and then driving through a few different states for another 2.5 weeks.

 

There will be 2 adults and 3 children (too young to carry their own bags!)

Seriously, I havent travelled OS like you are doing with 3 young kids in tow. My only suggestion would to be travel light and maybe buy more clothes and things when you get over there. Then before you come back, pack some of your additional purchases and have them air freighted back with someone like DHL.

Mix and Match outfits...travel light, layer clothes for colder climes and remember clothes are very very cheap in the states...with our dollar having some muscle for a change...I would only take necessities and have a splurge over there.:p

Don't forget you need to store all your luggage in the car as well as carry them.

Kids need a lot of things these days not just clothes.

Hmmm, thats a good point. I think we might hire a mini van :)
