SeaPA1 Posted February 19, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2011 Whats the best way to get to the beach in the little fishing village. Starts with a M. Just in case my ports of call are changed. I need backup:rolleyes: The little village/town is Majahual. Just get off the ship, walk into the complex at the base of the pier, and go out the exit to the taxi stand, and ask to be taken to town. Cost is $3 per person on the way there, $2 per person on return. There will be an abundance of cabs for either leg of the trip. When you get to town, the cabbie will drop you off at one of the "cab stand" areas; from there you'll be a very short walk to the beach area. At the beach, there is a paved walkway, with the sandy beach on one side (with beach chairs, picnic tables, umbrellas & such), with shops & restaurants on the opposite side. The restaurants service the beach area that is in front of their spot, serving food & beverage. Prices are quite reasonable, especially compared to most beach stops in the Carribean (bucket of beer will be around $10, for instance, instead of the $15 to $20 many other cruisestops charge). Many of the places also offer massages if you desire. If you want to eat/drink even cheaper, there are some very good and inexpensive places to do so on the street that runs parallel to the beach, one block away. We ate, had a couple of beers & a couple of shots of tequilla at a place called 100% Agave, for around $20 total (we being wife, 7 & 5 yo sons, and me).
