Can a 12 year od boy wear tennis shoes to dinner?

Just wanted an opinion. My 12 year od son would be the most comfortable in a clean dark colored tennis shoe for casual nights. This would save me from buying him a pair of leather shoes he is not likely to wear much other than on the cruise. He will wear dress shoes on formal nights. Thanks!:)

Since you'll see adults wearing tennis shoes to dinner (a WHOLE other topic I'd rather not start) I think there would be no one that would be the least concerned about your son. At 12 he's growing so fast that the new shoes you'd have to buy would last what, 2 weeks?
