Walk to Lobster Alive?

Hello, It's our first time in Barbados and I keep reading about Lobster Alive. I believe it's a restaurant that has a beach front. Do you need to eat at the restaurant in order to use the beach. The menu looks pricey even when I divide by two since the prices are not in US currency. I think they have a take out service. Does anyone know if the menu is the same. Thanks.

 

We've gone there twice and love it. No need to eat at the restaurant if you don't want to. You do have to pay $15, which gives you two chairs and an umbrella. You also get 3 tickets for free rum punch or soda at Lobster Alive.

Planning on spending time at Lobster Alive in a few short days.:D I was wondering if they ever serve any kind of shrimp or shrimp dishes? I know it is a lobster restaurant but I love love love shrimp. I have looked at their menu online and it doesn't show shrimp but I thought I read where someone said they offered it. Also is there any where close by to walk to that serves other types of seafood?

I seem to recall that if you do not wish to rent the chairs etc., you simply ask the taxi driver to drop you off at the spot where you do not pay the entry fee. Am I correct?

The taxi actually dropped us off at Harbour Lights - we knew we wanted to go to Lobster Alive so walked up the beach. We didn't eat at all - the rum punch is strong - the water is beautiful and there are all kinds of taxis to take you back if you don't want to walk back.

Just a note: my husband and I ended up walking to Lobster Alive, thanks to this thread. It was a nice walk, and very manageable. And the rum punches were VERY strong.
