Had a great Time with Glory Tours

After reading a less than positive report on Glory Tours I thought that I would post my experience with Glory Tours

My Family and I booked a Best of Barbados tour and we were looking forward to it very much. We arrived in Barbados on a beautiful day and easily met with Ricky our tour guide

Rick is a great guy and my daughters just loved him. He was kind and helpful as well and fun and joking. Shortly after Rick y picked us up he stopped by a beach just about 5 min from the Port and showed us how high the sea was and he mentioned he was concerned about being able to do the snorkeling portion of the tour.

At that moment I think all of our hearts sank but Ricky said it was not definite so we hoped things would improve. We stopped to make one pick up from a hotel called Tamarind I think.

When the couple from the hotel got into the van we mentioned to them about the sea and they shared with us that they had been coming to Barbados from England for several years and that they had never seen the sea this rough. They had been on the Island for 3 days and had yet to even swim in the sea. They did however say they where still having a fantastic holiday.

So we where all set the 8 of us all together head off to Harrison’s Cave and Ricky continued to share with us stories about Cannibals and Pirates he really did an excellent job we learnt so many interesting and fun things about Barbados.

At the caves we where escorted to a waiting area whilst Ricky got our tickets. What a dream we did not have to wait in long lines with all the other cruise ship passengers on the cruise ship tours. Very quickly we where down into the caves. WOW what an experience is about all I can say I am very happy I was able to share this experience with my family my sons eyes barely blinked.

I understand the cave are closeting soon so the Restaurant area and reception can be rebuilt so take the opportunity to go now.

After the caves we boarded our sky mobile as my daughter named it and where off again over and down the hills onto the East Coast of Barbados. Where Sarah tells you it is a must it really is it is great. Fresh air rugged coastline I could have stayed in that spot for a week or more.

Ricky ordered our lunch ahead of time so we did to have a long wait when we arrived at the restaurant. The Restaurant was a local restaurant/bar. The day we went it was a bit hot but the food was great and I was very happy with the choice. It was at the restaurant we got the call from the captain of the boat. The sea was still rough and we could not go. Ricky explained how unsafe it would be and with the other couple who confirmed what had been happening over the last few days I accepted this to be the best choice. I was disappointed but it is not worth my family being hurt. Ricky also spoke about the Boat that got wrecked and the English couple said they had heard about it the day before.

So full from lunch and a little down about not being able to snorkel we headed to the Wild Life Reserve. What a time the kids had there. It was great fun for them the monkeys where all over the place and my children loved them. My wife was a bit nervous of them but all in all we had a great time. We took lots of photos

Ricky asked if we wanted to go to a beach on the south coast that it is usually low on the south when it is high on the West so we where happy we could at least have a swim. We went to Accra beach which is the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. We rented chairs from Sugar reef restaurant had some great rum punch and spent about 2 hours at the beach. We showered off in the showers the Restaurant provides and headed back to the port.

We had heard about Boat Yard but we took Ricky up on the Suggestion of Sugar Reef and had a great time the Chairs where only BDS$5 and the drinks weren’t much either.

So to close off I would highly recommend Glory Tours http://www.glorytours.org we did not get to snorkel but we had a great time
