Dream observations

Sorry about the missing text, I hit edit but took too long to post the rest...here it is now.

We never once smelled the "smell" that people speak of.

My hair normally takes 5 minutes to dry, with the hairdryer on the Dream it was 15 minutes....ladies you can decide whether or not to take yours from home. I should have taken my own.

I am not a complainer, I like to go with the flow (I am on vacation, how could things possibly be bad?) but our room was dirty when we arrived at 1:30. I started to clean but there was more there than I bargained for. There were hairs from the previous cruiser on the window ledge, the windows and balcony door were sticky with hand prints and mouth imprints, gum wrappers under the phone, dust everywhere, stickiness on the exterior cabin door, etc. I went to guest services and they assured me it would be taken care of. By the next day, nothing had improved so rather than wasting my vacation time waiting in GS lines, I cleaned it myself.

We have never really paid attention to Cruise Directors but we really enjoyed Butch and Mel.

We enjoyed sitting in the casino bar listening to the solo guy there as well as the Lido band.

I was worried that the big screen would be overpowering. We had never sailed a ship with one before. Though we didn't really sit and watch much, it was just something in the background. You were still able to carry on a conversation.

The food was wonderful and the Steak house was beyond belief!!

Room service was tasty when it finally arrived. Both times took well over an hour for delivery, even though we didn't really order during peak times.

Dancing in the Streets show should not be missed.

A worker during disembarkation told my Dad that it takes 75 tractor trailer loads to restock the Dream. I thought this was a really interesting fact.

For the first time on a cruise we booked some excursions through the ship. The Dolphin Encounter in Nassau and a land tour in St. Thomas were both good and very well organized.

My Dad enjoyed the casino and it didn't take long for either of my parents to earn their 1500 points for free drinks. They both said that they broke even on the slots.

Both couples bought FCC's, couldn't have been easier. You just sign a form and they bill it directly to your S & S card.

The Pasta bar was my favorite place to eat. Get there early because once people realize it is there, the line ups are long. Speaking of line-ups, there were the usual ones for food at prime times but nothing to complain about really.

My Mom and I went to the spa on a sea day. For $119 each we had neck, shoulder and back massages, foot massages, scalp massage @ oil treatment, dry salt exfoliation and a facial. It was amazing. My massuese didn't try to sell me anything, my Mom's did but didn't push it when Mom told her she wasn't interested.

Overall our cruise was factastic. I think we have made cruise addicts out of my parents too. This was their first cruise and my Dad joked that if his room wasn't already booked for the following week, he would stay.

If anyone has any questions, ask away and I will do my best to answer.

Thanks for the info. We are cruising this Saturday on the Dream. Do you recall how early they let people off the ship when back in port Saturday Morning?

Thanks!

It can really vary from trip to trip depending on how soon the ship clears Customs. I've seen debark start before 0700 and seen it delayed till almost 0900.
