timothy998 Posted February 24, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2011 My mother sent the following cartoon, Maxine's words of wisdom on cruising. ("But we like it anyway!")
twodogmom Posted February 24, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2011 Loved it. It is amazing what is considered large cabin on a ship, but would be small in other places. Thanks for sharing this Maxine. She is great.

Nancyquilts Posted February 24, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2011 Or, the reason they call it a "cabin" is that it's short for "cabinet".
Koshlong Posted February 24, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 24, 2011 Oh, but it's all of the things that SURROUND the closet that are important! And where else can you travel to interesting places while inhabiting a closet? At least, you can choose to inhabit a closet with a view..............sometimes. And at least somebody else has to clean that closet. Alas, I retired from teaching a few years ago (:):D:)) and my grammar has gone downhill ever since. I'd never let a student start sentences with "and", but it's kind of fun.

I've stayed in rooms in Japan & the UK that were smaller than our cabins on the ship!
Lemur Posted February 25, 2011 #9 Share Posted February 25, 2011 Yes, but it's a very nice closet...that takes you places... ...not unlike the wardrobe that leads to Narnia
