lovetocruise75 Posted February 26, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2011 Can anyone tell me about first-hand experiences with the Explorer kids programs? We will be sailing Explorer in September and taking our 3 1/2 yo for her first cruise. How does it work? What do the kids do? Thanks!!!
boulders Posted February 26, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2011 All of the RCCL Adventure Ocean programs work pretty much the same. On the first night of the cruise, there will be an open house in order to fill out the forms to register your child. The actual program starts the next day. On sea days, Adventure Ocean is open 9 am - noon, 2-5 pm and 7 pm to 2 am. You can sign up for the kids to have lunch with AO, for a fee. On port days, AO is open 1 hour before the first shore excursion until 5 pm and then 7 pm to 2 am. The area for the 3-5 year olds opens off the arcade through a red door (different from the older kids). DS5 used the Explorer AO for 2 weeks in December. I must say that the area is pretty small. There is a small slide plus a "loft". There is a craft area plus a TV. Enjoy your cruise.
