SilkShirt Posted February 27, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2011 We will be in AQ. We like the MDR menus better and the offerings in Blu. Can we sign up to select dining? Would they still let in Blu if we liked the menu on a given night?
kitty9 Posted February 27, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2011 You basically have to make a choice. No bouncing back and forth. You can book Select only if there is room , and you really need to do it at the time of booking, or as soon as you possibly can, as it tends to book up early. We were on a waiting list for Select, and didn't clear the list, so we were in traditional. You might be able to go to Blu, but you might have to speak with the maitre'd, because if you get Select, they may take you off the Blu list. All you can do is try. SilkShirt Posted February 27, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted February 27, 2011 I thought select dining was just paying the tips in advance. Then you could any flexable dinner times. I wasn't offered to pay the tips in advance. We would just like the ability to eat where they're serving something we both like. We've booked specially restaurants, but don't want to pay for 11 nights. Will Blu serve a meal being offered in the MDR?
The Viking Posted February 27, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2011 Before our cruise in AQ we also did not like the Blu menu but showed up the first evening. The service was great and so was the food and its presentation. We were told that if we, for any reason, wanted to go to MDR we could do it as select dining. The servers in MDR would get their share of the tip which we had prepaid. We could always come back to Blu. Each day we checked both menus and did not find anything of interest when compared to Blu.
