tee_harbor Posted February 27, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2011 From past questions, there's been a certain amount of interest in going to a McDonald's after days of fancy ship dining. :D I wanted to update cruisers that the downtown Juneau McDonald's has closed. They hope to find another location where they can have a drive-thru, but for anyone familiar with Juneau knows, that's going to be quite a search, so there's no date for a re-open. The Valley location is still open but would require transportation. So plan accordingly for the summer of 2011!

tee_harbor Posted February 27, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted February 27, 2011 Whoo-hoo - room for another jewelry store!! :D LOL! You'd think a nice big location like that, one of the Outsider vendors would have snapped it up, but it is beyond the Golden Circle of South Franklin. A local hippie bead store is going in. I'm giving in one season and perhaps if the numbers pick again, some tee-shirt emporium will go in.
oldengine Posted February 28, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 28, 2011 In Juneau, it was great to have a good friend to guide us to lunch and dinner spots that were away from the tourists. The Sandbar (Glacier Highway & Industrial Blvd.) had the best Halibut & Chips in the territory and all the locals knew it! http://alaskacruiseblog.com/narratives/the-meal-plan-and-the-meals/
