CAS - Win Loss Statements

We have been unsuccessful in getting CAS to send us Win/Loss statements. And since there are 11 gambling members in the family AND the trip was booked thru CAS, this is a bit upsetting. And yes....we HAVE called, e mailed etc.

Has anyone been successful in obtaining Win/Loss Statements from CAS? If so, how did you manage to obtain them?

Get one before you leave the ship, that's the best way. Gambling losses can only be used to offset gambling wins on your taxes.

unless you declare your profession as a professional gambler, then you can write your losses off as a business loss, however you need all sorts of paperwork and keep track of everything as well as your comps etc. In the end it really isn't worth all the effort :)

I've never had a problem getting a statement from anywhere.

I do remember one casino(I forget which) that when I asked for one they said we sent them out at the end of the year with all their other tax stuff.

And here's a little tip. DON'T forget to file ALL of your W2G's, I forgot one one year and got audited for the next three:mad:

BTW OP, good hit!!

Win-Loss statements from CAS are available for the previous year. You must request it from CAS after 1/1/?? for the previous year. E-mail does not work, you must call them, unless you know your player number. If you are a big gambler, you may know it, otherwise you will not.

I called after 3 cruises in the last 18 months asking and was sent my win-loss statement. Do not expect to get too much information. It told me I lost $1800 in the previous year when actually I was up over $2000. Had me only playing roulette to the tune of $200 when in fact I was on the Table for an hour a night at the minimum.

The only time I ever won over a thousand on a cruise they were right there wanting my photo ID before they'd hand over the money. When I got home I contacted the OPC....it took several emails but I finally got the win/loss statements from them. Unfortunately I've never won anything from CAS that would warrant a W/L statement

Try the link below for their form. I faxed it to them in the AM and noted that I wanted the results e-mailed to me. I had what I needed in less than a day.

Believe or not, I just gave up last year BUT have TONS of 1098/9? Forms from our December cruise so I really need to pursue the Win/Loss statement from CAS this time....

My question is how did you get around the form asking that it be notarized? Or did they accept a faxed copy WITH notary's stamp, etc.

I still do not understand the need for the notary stuff! As NO other casino or cruise player's club asks for this.....and believe me-we deal with a LOT of them!
