emmitdb Posted February 28, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2011 Greetings All, I am in Brunei being available as the de facto childminder whilst my daughter gives birth to her second child. We were invited to a BBQ courtesy of the Royal Brunei Yacht Club and, it came as somewhat of a surprise to see the Artemis berthed not 600yds from the club. She looked quite resplendent but it got me thinking. I've been to loads of places and not taken advantage of the sights and amenities local to where we are berthed. (and |I'm not necessarily talking of spending a fortune on the cruise excursions) It gave me a kick in the pants that the next cruise we go on, we will do more research to see what is available in the immediate area. What a lovely place to be child minding emmitdb. We spent a very interesting day and night there 2 years ago post Borneo holiday as we flew Air Brunei. What friendly people the locals are. We usually explore the ports and beyond on our cruises rather than take ship's tours. Good luck with the new arrival :)
Rare Host Sharon Posted February 28, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2011 Glad Artemis looked resplendent. She will so be missed :( By the way Emmitdb, if you need tips on what to do where, the port section of Cruise Critic is a great place to start looking.
