new to cruising.. have some questions..

We are going on Carnival Fantasy in less that 2 weeks now and i was just curious the process of things you should do when you get on the ship.

 

i read a thread a month or so ago and i cant find it anymore but the lady had listed steps of the first things you should do when you first step on the cruise such as getting your card punched and going to guest services.

 

what else do we need to do or is none of this really necessary?

It is essentially your vacation. Everyone, I suspect, will have their own ritual when they board the ship. Basically you can eat, go explore, start drinking those drink of the day's...and when they make the announcement you can go to your cabin and check it out. It is all really up to you.

It's up to you, but we get lunch and then head up top to relax. You can get your S&S card hole punched in the casino if you want, and we normally get that done sometime before sail away.

Explore the ship, head up to Lido deck and get some burgers and dogs, jump in the pool, work on your tan. Lots of stuff to do. Just be courteous of the cabin stewards and steer clear of the cabins til usually around 1:30pm. They will be hard at work until then doing turn-around (cleaning the cabins from the previous cruisers).

If you set up a sail-n-sign account with credit card then you are all set to enjoy the boat.

 

It seems most people will go straight to the Lido deck and have lunch then explore the boat while periodically checking to see if their luggage has arrived at the room.

 

College kids over 21 strip their clothes off and hog the hot tubs by the pool while getting drunk.

 

If you have kids make sure to bring them by Camp Carnival.

 

At 4pm most will go to the top deck to watch the port disappear.

Actually on our last cruise the first group into the hot tub with their drinks was all over 50!! And they seemed to be having a wonderful time!

There are no rules for what to do first other than enjoy your vacation!! It is what you make it!!:D

we tend to eat then wait for room to be ready and dump off our carryons. then explore and of course have a cocktail

Can you explain getting our S&S card hole punched please? We've been on a few cruises and I haven't heard that one before.
