Go for the aft.

You won't be able to see where you are going but you can always see where you have been.

Seriously, the view, sunsets and size of balconey are great.

Once you try aft, you won't be happy with any other location.

Pluses and minuses to aft balcony--mostly pluses. 180 degree view is great. Unlikely to have the "across the pier" view of another ship while in port. Extra room is sufficient for a full lounger, as opposed to the 2 chairs and a table set up on regular balcony.

As for minuses: little breeze, even when in motion. Can get really hot very quickly. Given the recess of higher decks, not much privacy at the rail. Finally, and probably peculiar to me, I really didn't like getting up every morning to a soaked balcony with debris washed down from the aft lido deck. Hosed down every night right to my balcony it seemed.

Pros: The views are great. It isn't as windy. The balcony is much larger and the hallways are really quiet back there.

Cons: If you're on a tight budget and like to have casino and cocktail money the extra cost will help fund those items.

We enjoy spending time on our balcony and in the cabin so the extra cost is worth it to us.
