Future Cruise Credit question

I called and used my future cruise credit to RCCL. They said i had to book with them and not a travel agent. After i booked i thought i remember the paper work said my travel agent would get commission? Is that true?

If, when you booked your NextCruise, it remained with RCI.......once you activate that NC and assign a specific cruise to it, you have 60 days to transfer that booking to a TA. After 60 days, it remains with RCI.

oh okay what is the benefit of a TA? Last cruise i booked with one and when i found the upgrade on the cruise site i had to call the TA and then she had to look etc took a few days and i got it.

If you keep your booking with RCI you are in control until the day you board. You can make any changes directly with them. If you see a price reduction you can call and get the adjustment.

 

Transferring your booking to a TA usually means that you have found someone that is offering incentives to get your booking like an OBC or prepaid gratuities. However, any changes must be made by way of the TA.

If you consider booking with a TA for some benefit, be sure to ask them the important questions before you book:

 

Do they charge for price drops? How about multiple price drops?

Do they charge for cancellations?

Do they have RCI charge your credit card (good), or do you pay the TA and then the TA pays RCI? (bad)
