Jabee Posted March 5, 2011 #17 Share Posted March 5, 2011 This will be a Dominos positioning... ie...Breeze to NOLA and then Conquest to California to replace the Spirit. I do not see a new ship to California...but they will benefit from the move. I would expect it will most likely go to Ft. Lauderdale or Miami... need to compete with the big new ships RCCL and NCL have put down there.
Cruisin Christi Posted March 5, 2011 #18 Share Posted March 5, 2011 NEW ORLEANS,please!!!!! I say this and I am closer to Galveston. I think that port deserves it personally.
spencercoop Posted March 5, 2011 #19 Share Posted March 5, 2011 Uhh...hello? NEW YORK!!:D She isn't really a cold weather ship. The Dream class ships have no retractable roofs over any of the pools
spencercoop Posted March 5, 2011 #20 Share Posted March 5, 2011 I would love to see it in Hawaii. I wish that Carnival was able to do an itinerary similar to the Pride of America. Carnival wouldn't legally be allowed to operate those cruises. The Breeze would have to be registered in the US, built in the US, and staffed mostly by Americans. Also it is not the most profitable cruise to operate. At one time NCL had 3 ships in Hawaii, but now they only have one.

jaded99 Posted March 5, 2011 #23 Share Posted March 5, 2011 I really really really want Carnival to cruise out of Boston. In fact, the only thing holding us back from making a decision on doing a Carnival wedding is that the closest port to us is NYC and we have to get a good number of our family members who won't fly or drive themselves long distances to wherever the wedding is. BABSIER Posted March 5, 2011 #24 Share Posted March 5, 2011 New York for the summer then a repositioning cruise to Florida or New Orleans.
AberAlex Posted March 5, 2011 #25 Share Posted March 5, 2011 The west coast really doesn't have that many options anymore, especially with the Spirit leaving San Diego. I think there would be a huge demand for a ship sailing from San Fransisco heading to the Pacific Northwest for weeklong or shorter cruises and picking up the Spirit's exotic-extended cruises to Mexico during the late fall, winter and early spring months. Then during the summer she would be well positioned for Alaska cruising. I've heard some people mention that the Splendor or a ship in the Dream class would be too large for Alaska but RCCL has been sending megaships up there for years so I believe the Breeze sailing to Alaska would be non-problematic in that regard. I would say the Breeze could also easily pick up the Spirit's cruises to Hawaii sailing from San Fransisco but it appears that the Splendor is going to be the replacement for those iteneraries since she will be going there in 2013.
