Folding Luggage Dollies in NY

Our suitcases have wheels, so they "heel" very nicely, and they will get turned over to the porter upon arrival at the terminal. The carry on bags, obviously, get carried, but they do get heavy after a while, not to mention being cumbersome when trying to pull out passports, and all the other misc little things that need to be done during the boarding process. We have a folding luggage cart, on which we can easily put the carry on bags, and bungee into place. I know I can pack it, and hand carry it off the boat at disembarkation, then use while leaving the terminal after the cruise, but the question is, can these carts be used during the embarkation process, while going through the boarding procedures, or will we have to actually pick up and carry the carry on bags?

The carry-on bags will have to go thru the x-ray screeners during the boarding process just like at the airports--don't know if you can put the whole thing on there or if you will have to take the bags off & put everything on separately.
