malony33 Posted May 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2004 We'd like to try Priceline since we've seen the incredibly good deals some of you got for rather pricey hotels. 1. What are the things to look for on Priceline about the Marriott Marina Biscayne Bay to tip you off that it's the Marriott? 2. Is it considered downtown? 3. Is it 4 stars on Priceline? 4. Any suggestions for other nice hotels not too, too far from the port? And would you please give info here for the 1st three questions above? BTW, we need 1 night - 1/2/05. No shuttle necessary. I would appreciate any help since we never stay in Miami. Many thanks!!!
twofromcolumbus Posted May 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2004 The Marriott Biscayne Bay is a cat 3 hotel on priceline and it is considered "downtown"; You bid for the category on priceline, not the hotel. We got the DoubleTree Miami Bayshore for 1 night precruise and for 1 night postcruise in October 2004 for $45 each stay. Might not be the lowest price, but I am happy with it. Go to Bidding for travel web site to understand priceline bidding. thereuare Posted May 16, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2004 If you are trying to 'target' a specific hotel than Hotwire may be that answer since that is the service that shows you the amenities beforehand. However, most of the reviews for the Downtown Miami 3* hotels are favorable and i would have no problem using Priceline at that level... i have done so in the past and ended up at the Hyatt Regency which was great and perfect for a pre-cruise stay. -thereuare BetterBidding
