Explorer of the Seas Aft Balconies (Voyager Class)

Recommended Posts

We have signed up for an eleven night cruise on Explorer of the Seas and we are looking at Junior Suite 7394. It's in the middle of the very back of the ship. From photos we have seen, it appears the view might be obstructed and we aren't sure if this is true. Also, does anyone know about motion on the back of the ship? Any feedback would be great!

We were in an aft balcony cabin on the Mariner a few years ago, and I've linked a few pics from that cruise so you can see the view. Yes, it is a little obstructed, but after the first day we didn't notice or care. It's certainly not something that would stop us from booking an aft cabin on a Voyager class again, but it's also not something that you can deny is there. Pictures make it seem worse than it is because you can't move your head around to see what's behind it, but like I said, after we got used to it, it's not a big deal.

As for the motion, I think that's really subjective. Motion has never bothered me on any cruise and in fact, it's one of my favorite things about cruising; reminds you you're not on land. I've been on cruises with people where I thought the large ship with stabilizers was hardly moving at all and the family member I was traveling with was sick the whole time. If you're prone to seasickness, get a patch or consider a cabin in the middle of the ship. People say the front of the ship experiences the most movement and the middle is the most stable, but I've never really noticed a difference anywhere.
