Should I pack a beach towel?

Does Carnival provide beach towels? I don't want to take up space with a beach towel, but I don't want to air dry if there are no other alternatives LOL. I plan on parasailing in Key West, and going to the beach at Mr. Sanchos in Cozumel. If Carnival does carry beach towels, can I bring them off the ship (I figured they may charge a fee for unreturned towels etc.)?

Should I pack a beach towel?

Thanks for answering my "virgin" cruiser question :o

Nope. You will get two in your stateroom and they will be replaced as needed by your cabin steward. You can take them off the ship, but don't lose them. I think it is $28/lost towel.

I used to bring my own....but it was more out of fear of losing the carnival towel and having to pay the $20+ fee! I was in Cozumel last month and took the Carnival towel to the beach with me----when I got back on board I went straight to Lido deck and exchanged it for a sand-free one--no problems AND I have extra room in my suitcase.:p

Agree, no towel packing really needed. The Carnival towels are quite heavy-bulky though and found it easier to bring a thin cheap towel along, or buy one as a souvenier and use to pack other items with it as padding.

With your excursions sounds like you won't be walking around with towels shopping, so just use Carnivals- I have never lost one, but I am sure room steward will not charge you--why would they risk their tip?

things to bring though--

1.)an insulated travel cup like this one:

http://www.rei.com/product/738004 It can easily be filled having a wide brim with ice and beverage on ship, ice for off ship.

2.)Alarm clock you can read in dark that is battery --theship has a wake up service by cabin phone, but nice at night to know what time it is, and don't want to have cell phone on as a clock risking a call coming in or message and getting charged for it.

3.)Small flashlite--just in case, or to get up middle of night for bathroom.

4.)LOTS of $1, and $5 for tips, taxis etc. IF you run low go to casino or guest services for change

5.)Sticky notes--for eachother and room steward

6.)Highliter for Carnival Fun Times being a new cruiser & a Folder for all items use accumulate.

7.)Conditioner--only shampoo and body gel in shower is provided

8.)camera-batteries and multiple memory cards--I prefer to bring smaller size memory cards and change them. As if something happens to camera I would not loose all my photos. So I change memory card almost daily. I also labeled camera just in case with name/cabin number

9.)IF med/long hair: Bring a hair dryer--ships is very weak and hard wired so cannot move it.

Hope this helps a new cruiser!
