Atty Posted March 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2011 Hi all: My DW and I are taking our 2 DDs on a short weekend cruise on the Paradise in April. It will be the first for my younger DD (age 7). They are both excited but I can't give them a strong idea of what is actually going to be available for them to do because the Carnival website only talks in generalities and some of the things may be only for longer cruises on newer ships. So, I was hoping that someone out there had a copy of the Camp Carnival fun times for the 3day Paradise for the 6-8 and 9-11 age groups. My girls thank you very much :)

MissyMac13 Posted March 15, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 15, 2011 We went on the Paradise over Super Bowl weekend and our 8 year old daughter participated in as many Camp Carnival activities as she could. I didn't keep the schedule of activities, but I can tell you that they really pack in the fun for this age group. She went to dinner with her group on 2 of the 3 nights, went to parties, played video and board games, designed her own T-shirt, made a stuffed animal and did a scavenger hunt. The spa had specials for this age group and our daughter didn't participate, but the spa activities looked fun and affordable. There was certainly enough to keep her busy over the 3 days. Did you post a review too???? Hi there..sure no problem I can post them here. I didnt do a review as of yet but thinking I will tonight. I didnt take many pictures :(, other than of our group, since I had been on the Paradise about 5 times now. The kids looked like they were having fun when we stuck our head into Camp Carnival though! My DD first cruise was when she was 7 as well and she loved the kids program (shes 19 now and away at college).

serene56 Posted March 17, 2011 #11 Share Posted March 17, 2011 The reason you dont see them posted is because the progams do change a lot from cruise to cruise. We had copies of the Dec 10sailing of the Pride and sailed Feb 12 and the program was all different then what we saw posted earlier. So to avoid disappointed children make sure you tell them these activities MIGHT be what they can do

My older daughter knows the drill, I did something similar for her first cruise. Thanks ;)
serene56 Posted March 18, 2011 #13 Share Posted March 18, 2011 What surprised me was she ranted and raved since Christmas about going to camp on the carnival ship-We went and spent about 30 minutes for the orientation and was meeting the kids at the Sunday family dance party-- she went 2 hours on the Monday morning- we picked her up at lunch and she never wanted to go back. Not that we minded but was just surprised.

DEBnGAB Posted March 18, 2011 #16 Share Posted March 18, 2011 Note...they do still give free drinks at the Captains Party for the 3nighter. Also, the $5/casino match play deal is good everyday. Buy a "Carnival Classic" drink, take your receipt to the casino cage and get a $5 match play card.
