NCL DAWN,So/So cruise Feb 25th-March6-2011

Found this cruise to be so/so .It did not live up to our expectations,

We found the food to be O.K, no standout meals to speak of, but nice variety and always something found. The kids loved the Blue Lagoon. Aqua was fast and efficient, Venetian , slow and lots of errors in plates, but beautiful room decor.

Matt Baker is hilarious! and perfectly suited for his job, as for the rest of the entertainment crew...not so much. On our previous cruises we felt much more attached to the personnel, they spoke to you, made you feel like a family, in a very sincere way, I found NCL personnel focused on their own interests rather than the guests.

Jose and Patti...fabulous!!

Magician...Great!!

Production shows and Comedian...not so much

Cabins were very workable, lots of small storage areas, especially with 4 in a room. Stewards were stealth like, very good.

Ship was a mishmash of themes and decor, none of which I found tasteful or elegant.

Great pool area, always a seat somewhere to be found, stadium seating is a great use of space.

Annoyed by the constant drink, art auction, bingo, casino, announcements, photo poses...I felt like I was constantly being pitched at.

We did have 2 very negative events during our cruise and bad enough to make me not consider another NCL cruise anytime soon.

Both were reported on board/ Guest Services/Maitre D, and by email to the corporate offices, no reply yet.

We still enjoyed the islands , the weather, time with our kids and just being off work.

Pleased share the negative events since we are going to be on the Dawn in December. Do you think the issues will be resolved by the dry dock?

How can I put it delicately...one was a creepy crawler in the room, the other was a long hair in food.

These to me are complete no-no's, land or at sea.

Sorry to hear you about your unfortunate happens and your thoughts on the staff. We had just the opposite on our cruise and had a fantastic time with the crew. To the point of still being friends with most them. Glad you could enjoy the islands and your time away :)
