Acadian Heritage

A group of 8 from Louisiana will cruise on HAL Massdam from Boston to Montreal on Oct 8, 2011. We would like to visit sites connected to our Acadian heritage. Our ports are Bar Harbor, Halifax, Sydney, Charlotte, and Quebec. I would love ideas, especially from those who live in these areas or have done this previously.

Do you mean Charlottetown? If so, you are in luck. Someone from PEI might correct me on this, but when we went, we stayed north of Summerside, and there were beautiful Acadian settlements in that area, and a museum. If you are looking on a map, it is the area to the north and west of the Confederation Bridge. You'll notice there are more French place names.
