snakg4 Posted March 8, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2005 I am interesting in booking dinner at the specialty restaurant on the Infinity. Has anyone done this? Is it worth the extra cost? What is the experience like? Is there dancing? Just been upgraded to Concierge Class and are very excited about the upgrade. :)
cruiseyguy Posted March 8, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2005 No dancing, except by the staff. "Worth it" is a personal thing. I enjoyed it the first and second times; less so as I got used to the show.
windermere Posted March 8, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 8, 2005 It is well worth the extra $$$. Make sure you book your night as soon as you board. The non formal nights in the main dining room (The Trellis) will book up first. The service is amazing in the S.S. Have a great cruise.
bug_dan Posted March 8, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 8, 2005 If you are a Captain Club member, you can book 60 days early. With out a doubt the dining experience in the SS United States is worthwhile. We went on the last formal night on our cruise in Nov and they had the lobster tails available.
CruisingChick Posted March 8, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 8, 2005 The best meal I have ever had was in the SS United States on Infinity last April. To die for. Absolutely worth the $30 charge and my son, then 14 even loved it. We can't wait to be on Summit in July to try their Speciality Restaurant. It's definitely an experience you don't get at home. mferranti Posted March 8, 2005 #6 Share Posted March 8, 2005 We've dined in all four M-class restaurants, and love them all. We enthusiastically recommend them. Try the Zabaglione for dessert.
snakg4 Posted March 8, 2005 Author #7 Share Posted March 8, 2005 Is the dining room always formal? Or is it based on the dress code for the dining room? We are celebrating our 30th Anniversary and would like to book it for another formal evening. Thanks for all of the info :)
birders Posted March 8, 2005 #8 Share Posted March 8, 2005 Is the dining room always formal? Or is it based on the dress code for the dining room? It's formal on formal nites. Other nites are Celebrity's "Informal" code - jacket required. It's never casual.
