Just wondering from anyone that have done this before on how long you can spend at Tabyana beach. I would love to be able to spend as much time there as possible. I had to throw in Gumbalimba Park because my girlfriend wanted to do it. I would have rather just spend the day at the beach.:rolleyes: Thanks in advance. eandj Posted March 21, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 21, 2011 You might get more answers if you go to the NCL board where someone might have done the Pearl recently. The West Bay beach is fantastic. THe longer you can stay, maybe do some walk in snorkeling, have a couple drinks at some nice spots....the better. hikerbiker Posted April 11, 2011 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2011 Just got off the Crown Princess with a stop in Roatan. We did the Gumbalimba Park & Tabyana Beach excursion with Princess. The 35 minute drive to the park was more fun than the park. They have no speed limits and no traffic lights and the roads are very windy with blind curves. People don't hesitate to pass on a blind hill or curve -- pretty exciting!! Our group seemed to spend too much time at the park and by the time we got to the beach, we had about 1 hour and some of that was spent standing in a slow moving line for the buffet lunch. The 2 highlights at the park are the parrots and the monkeys. You walk up, they bring out 1 parrot from a cage and you take turns getting your photo taken with the bird on your arm or shoulder, etc. When you get to the monkeys, who are also caged, they bring one out and you take turns getting your photo taken. The other "highlight" is walking over a rope bridge. Our guide seemed to be a pleasant young man who described some of the flora and fauna we were seeing in the park but his heavy accent made it very difficult for many in our group to understand what he was saying. They post the times of the shuttles back to the ship and you can take any shuttle. If I had to do it over again, I would have just opted for the beach, or some other excursion. Please note that Gumbalimba Park does have it's own beach, a swimming pool, and a zip-line but our excursion did not include those activities.
