Taxi question

Just a question about taking taxis on the islands, and also in San Juan.

 

Is tipping expected, as it is in the U.S.? Or is the price, the price and no tipping on top of that?

Not sure about all the island customs, but we always tip on top of the fare with the one exception of the taxis (which are often mini-buses) which, for a very low fee (maybe $3-$5), take big groups of people to and from various towns from the port. We don't tip on those rides and haven't seen others do so either.

Yes - at least we tip.

And beleive it or not San Juan is the U. S. It just isn't a state.

We always tip in San Juan and don't forget if you are seeking transportation either to or from the ship with luggage there is a charge per piece.
