Norway in a Nutshell Tour help needed

Recommended Posts

Hi. We are planning to do a pre-cruise stop in Oslo, Norway and want to do the 1 day roundtrip from Oslo Norway in a Nutshell trip with Fjord Tours. We have been on their website and know we can book the tour on their website, but we have read that 2 of the segments in the summer you really must reserve your seats in advance to ensure you get a seat!!

Does anyone know if when you book on Fjord Tours website will it automatically reserve you a confirmed seat or do you need to do something in addition to get a confirmed seat? (Note: We have tried to call them, but can never speak to a person).

Or, does anyone know of a different company or website (or phone #, etc) to use to book the trip with reserved seats?

Thanks!!

The only place that you can reserve a seat is on the long-distance trains to/from Oslo, and this applies to anyone traveling on that train. Since FjordTours basically just buys all of the transportation tickets for you as a package, they will be buying a reserved-seat train ticket.

I might add that reserved seats are also available for a shorter section on the train from Bergen to Myrdal, for example. But, yes this was prearranged along with a boat trip back from Flam to Bergen. The train from Myrdal to Flam was not reserved seating and it was a free-for-all to get a seat when the train pulls into Myrdal. This is one time when you don't want to be 'too polite'.
