We are planning to drive down to go. It has been 10 yrs since our last cruise this is our 10 yr anniversary.

I choose the 815 Traditional dinning. I have read the dress code on princess site.

Can you get away with a sport jacket and pants for me and my wife nice dress pants and fancy top with heals?

I am not sure if we want traditional dinning all the time do they have a list of the other offerings by day?

We thought about doing a extra cost meal one night any suggestions on the dinning room?

Has anyone gotten a free upgrade to a nicer cabin?

If you're talking about non-formal nights, you can ditch the sport jacket. You might get away with it on formal nights. I think if you added a tie, you'd be fine.

The Patter will have your dining options. Be aware that if you are signed up for traditional, you shouldn't go to the Anytime Dining Rooms.

Try Sabatinis if you haven't gone yet. The Crown Grill is okay... If you want to splurge (and you might since this is for a significant anniversary) you might try to get on the Chef's Table... $75/pp but well worth it.

Upgrades happen all the time... good luck!

Upgrades are very hit and miss, I certainly wouldn't count on one though if you booked a guarantee cabin instead of selecting a room, you may get a same cabin type higher category. If your room is already assigned (guarantee or otherwise) it's less likely but still possible that you'll get an upgrade.

Your dining applies to dinner, and for all other meals you can use whatever venue you like on the ship (buffet, International Cafe, Grilles, room service). You could opt for specialty dining for your dinner for an upcharge. If you'd like to try this, I'd suggest checking out the dining room menus (posted daily) to see if you like or don't like what's on tap. Of course, that won't allow you to book a table in specialty dining too far in advance.

Reagrding your bow stateroom, what level is it on? I'd guess lower. You should get less motion the lower you are, but it can be louder.

Thanks I wasn't sure on the stateroom I booked with princess directly and told the lady I wanted interior I didn't specify the room. I just checked my boarding pass and it has a room number on it. She told me she would put me for a free upgrade so I guess we will have to see part of the adventure. We had a balcony on the one we took 10 yrs ago. But money is tight now so we went as cheap as we could.

Which works out for me since we dont drink very much dont think we will any on the cruise maybe in the ports some.

Be aware that the person who said they were putting you in for a free upgrade was very misleading. ALL bookings are set that way by default and only those who specifically request not to be upgraded are not eligible for a free upgrade.
