Hiya!

We decided it would be smarter, since our flight gets in around 7:00 p.m. the day before the cruise, to just stay at a place near the Orlando airport and hitch a shuttle the next morning to the Port, instead of heading for Cocoa Beach that night.

Anyhoo....wondering if anyone has any experience with Ramada Inn & Suites on McCoy Road or the La Quinta Inn & Suites on Frontage Road. OR - would love some other recommendations for another place near to the airport. Thanks!!

Since you don't get in until after 7pm and it's only for one nite, just use Priceline or Hotwire.

You'll likely be able to get a 2.5* or 3* hotel for less than for what you're seeing for either of the above two properties.

Both those motels/hotels are very close to the airport if that is your main goal. I'm assuming you are going on a cruise leaving from Port Canaveral the next day. There is a hotel right in the airport but it's name escapes me. Here is a good site to look for hotels anywhere in the USA.

Here is the Orlando airport site:

And here is a Port Canaveral web site

There are lots and lots of good hotels and motels in the Orlando area and quite a number in the airport area.

Have a Great next cruise.

The Hyatt is right at the hotel I think its even inside security. Check it out. I have heard of it going for $75.00 for a night.

I just found your post while searching for info on the LaQuinta. I found some really good reviews on the LaQuinta Airport North on tripadvisor.com. I decided to book it for 5 nights for our pre-cruise stay in Orlando.

Anyway, I found a great coupon code that works for this hotel. I used it online, but I think you can request it by phone as well. It is "SWA30" and it will give you 30% off the room rate.

I also found the codes VACATION and ABILNE as well for LaQuinta, but the SWA30 was the largest discount.

Hope this info helps. :)

Diva, we have stayed at the Ramada Inn on McCoy road, but at the time we were there it was Holiday Inn Express. We stayed there several times & enjoyed it, both when traveling & using their airport shuttle and also for weekend get away's. We have reservations again for Oct. and after talking to them it sounds even better as a Ramada than it was as HI. They now have a full HOT breakfast, before it was continental. They also have an manager's reception in the evening, but I think it ends at 6:30 or 7. Our room for Oct. was only $48 and that includes leaving our car there for the week while we are cruising from San Juan. Not a bad deal we think.

CM, I don't know of any Orlando Hotels that have shuttles to the port. It's about a 45-60 minute ride from Orlando. I believe there are shuttle services available that would pick you up either from the airport or your hotel, but I am not sure of the cost.
