kkm1228 Posted March 22, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 22, 2011 Our family is cruising in July to Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan. We would like to do the glacier dog sledding excursion but we have a child who is scared of flying in the helicopter. Anyway to do this without the helicopter ride? Assateague Island Princes Posted March 22, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 22, 2011 Not on a glacier. Both Juneau and Skagway have dog cart rides - wheeled carts on land, not on the glacier. Can't get to the glacier dog sled camps without flying, sorry.
kkm1228 Posted March 22, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted March 22, 2011 Do have an idea of which one to go with? I was looking into taking the train in Skagway to the dog sledding and taking a van down.
trophy_23 Posted March 22, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 22, 2011 Are they just nervous or really scared? I think once they got in and saw how beautiful everything is they would forget about being scared. Our trip was amazing, Temsco in Juneau!

I highly recommend Chilkoot Charters. They have a superb company that is extremely well run.

At close to $500pp, unless this is specifically known, I would be taking any chances on "finding out". :) Is it just 2 adults and this child?? I would split up so at the most interested can go.
