Main Dining Room Open on Embarkation Day?

Hi All,

 

Was wondering if Carnival opens the main dining room for lunch on Embarkation day or if only the buffet on the Lido is open. I am sailing on the Pride in September and the one thing I love about NCL is that the main dining room is open for lunch on the first day so you aren't stuck in the buffet. Wondering if Carnival does that as well. Also anyone recently on the Pride that can tell me what time embarkation stated?

That is one of the NCL embarkation secrets, they shuffle everyone off to the buffet but the MDR is open for lunch.

 

I have never found the MDR open for lunch on embarkation day on a Carnival ship.

Nope, not open on Carnival. Too bad, that's the only time we ever eat at the buffet, wish it was open, tho.

Also, if I'm wishing here.... I wish Carnival had the salad bar at lunch in the MDR like Royal Caribbean does. Now that's a salad bar!
