deck #1, how bad is it?

I have only ever stayed on Deck 1 on all my cruises. I have had anything from regular interiors to PT cabins & to Deluxe OV cabins, but I remain on Deck 1 & love it. It's above the galley so its easy to get off the ship for the ports. And I never heard any noise or felt any motion. I found it extremely quiet on Deck 1. Oh & saving $$$ is always a huge plus! :D

You won't hear the engines that far forward. Looks to me like you may well be under the Shore Excursion Desk, rather than the casino.. Either way, I'd bet you won't hear any noise. I too would save the $840 for other fun things. I personally LOVE deck one, and have sailed on that deck many, many times.

I have stayed once on the lowest passenger deck, riviera on Liberty, and it was in the back third part of the ship, and once on main on the Freedom far forward. On the lowest deck on the Liberty, we felt no motion worth remembering or mentioning, on the main deck on Freedom, because it was forward there was slight motion, but nothing disturbing.

I would say, go for the lower deck, and save your 840.00 for shore/port excursions and other on board extra costs.!:D Have fun!:)

Are there any rooms or portions of the ship to avoid on deck 1. We will probably book Deck 1 inside unless we luck into an port hole or obstructed view. Where do you hear the engines and are there any that you would hear elevator noise or anything. I know you'd hear chains from the porthole, but that's the gamble of getting a porthole.

Just booked deck 1 on the Pride for a great price for our Fall getaway!!

It was a toss up between a week of camping...buying groceries, making sure all the utilities were charged and ready to go, hooking up the trailer, towing through busy traffic, driving for a few hours, arriving to your site to find that you just wedged the camper between a 10 ton boulder and a tree, wind and rained most of the week, which make it unbearable to sit outside the camper, wet leaves pouring down to make the campsite unrecognizable, the satellite television service constantly interrupted due to the weather, cook three meals a day, do dishes after every meal (no dishwasher in the camper:( ), take the trash out every day due to the limited space, etc., etc., etc.,....seven days of miserable weather... then sun comes out just minutes before it time to pack up all the wet crap back in storage, put everything away in the camper, empty the trash, hook up the camper and dreadful long drive back home, arrive home only to unload the camper of dirty laundry, groceries, etc.....and then think to yourself....I would have done anything just to have been on deck 1 of the Pride out of Baltimore (90 minutes from home) despite what ever weather we would have had!!!

Looking forward to our Fall Getaway THIS year :)
