Just off Destiny Any ?'s

We are sailing the DESTINY on June 4th. First Cruise for our Children 14,13,11.

Hoping they like the Kids activities & the Ship itself. Did you go to Grand Cayman & Ocho Rios ???

We went to Half Moon Cay: Beautiful. Nassau and Grand Turk. Plentyu of kids on board and they seemed to keep them occupied at the kids club we did see some running around doing a scavenger hunt on the last day at sea. Will hopefully post some report tomorrow.

Did the ship seem run down? I understand it's going into dry dock Jan. and Feb. next year.

 

How did you like Grand Turk and HMC?

There were some things that needed attention. It looks like they are replacing carpet one piece at a time. But the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. If you like the beach Half Moon Cay is the place to be. The sand is like baby powder and the water crystal clear. Tablemates went jet skiing and LOVED it. We walked to the back of the Island and found the sting rays, took their picture, there were like 6 and in a pen, not worth spending money on.

I'm going in October on the Destiny. Would love to hear more about the boat and its condition. I'm doing Key West & Cozumel. As long as there is sunshine and DODs, I'll be happy!

Glad you made it to HMC - I was on the Destiny in February and we anchored right off the island and then pulled anchor and left cuz it was too windy to tender in :( how sad is that. (see review and pics in link below!)

Destiny has 3 pools, all on small side but good to cool off in and 5 hot tubs.

Does the pool have the adult serenity pool? Or the poolside theater? I'm looking at either Destiny, Fascination or Fantasy end of August. I do have one question, what is so different about Destiny, why did they never build another ship in that class???

There was a quiet pool at the back of the ship. A no kids allowed sign at the hot tubs by this pool, Carnival doesn't enforce their own rules I saw kids in the casino and no one said anything. There is a pool theater. Screen is on all day with beach and waterfall pics with music. I don't know why there is only one ship in the class we chose it cause we needed to a cruise on specific dates.

Justloud - we leave on Destiny on 4/4. Really looking forward to it. What about the casino? If you visited it did it appear updated?

 

Are hor d'oeuvres passed during the cocktail hour in the lounges?

Does the Destiny have a basketball court?

My DH spent alot of time in the casino. He plays Let it Ride and Roulette mostly but we did do a Blackjack tournament and they held slot tournaments. There was also a Texas Hold Em electronic table that always seened to be full. Chocolate night was not the day at sea night. I think it was the 4th night (I missed it). I never saw anyone passing any appetizers except at the past cruisers party. there is a basketball court and mini golf. The gym is really up to date with bikes treadmills ellipticals weights and even spin class for xtra$. Bring headphone if you uses treadmill they have TV.

All Triumph, Conquest, Splendor and Dream class ships are based on the Destiny design, 11 ships total I believe. They have added levels and other features over the years but the Destiny is the basis for them all.

DK you were on the Liberty, saw you in port then your Captain halled A**. I woke up at 4:30 AM and your ship was off in the distance behind us then all day you were working your way past us, You were a nice view from my chair on the upper deck Friday

Oh yeah, that was one slow 20 mph race, but we caught ya. After 15 hours. :)
