I am going on my first cruise July 24th on the Imagination. We are staying at the Sheraton Biscayne Bay Hotel in Miami pre and post-cruise. What's the best way to get to and from the port? Any advice about the area will be greatly appreciated as well!

Taxi is the best transportation option.

Airport to hotel should be about $25, hotel to port should be under $10.

Most in the area choose to eat at Bayside, which is sort of an 'outdoor mall' area with quite a few restaurants.

We stayed there through Priceline for $35 last November. We had a renatal car that we could drop right at the hotel. It was raining at dinner time so we ate at the hotel. Had a wonderful reasonable meal. Our room was on the 16th floor overlooking all the cruise ships. Enjoyed watching them all sail and the next morning woke up to see our ship. We took a cab to the port - about $10 including tip. Left hotel at 10:30 and were in our cabin on the ship by 11:15. Would definitely stay there again.

and we're on our way!!!

Budget is the car rental agency in their lobby if you decide to go that route. We rented one before our cruise from them. Cabs are the way to go to the port. They're all parked right in front of the hotel ("out by the road" in front). Just tell the bellhop and he'll call one for you. We did stay at the Sheraton for one night after our cruise but we decided not to rent the car for that night and to take a cab back to the airport. It was easier for them to drop us at the gate than for us to have to take the car back and drag all of our luggage around.
