I have stayed at both hotels. I have enjoyed my stay at both of them as well. Yankee Trader has a better place to eat, Shula's on the Beach, food is better than the Yankee Clipper. Yankee Trader is a bit closer to the Beach Place with all the shops, bars and places to eat.

Yankee Clipper has beach rentals which is kind of nice. Yankee Trader does not have their own section of the beach but you can still rent chairs there. I enjoyed the lounge at the Yankee Clipper they had some happy hour specials.

Either one of these hotels is fine. If you are a Starwood Member you can stay on a specific floor which is nice.
