Loterie Farm Zipline -Modify Itinerary?

Recommended Posts

Anyone know if CL will let you book this excursion, do the Zip line course and then ditch the return bus to the port. I would love to do this and then grab a taxi to Marigot and that area rather than go all the way back to Philipsburg and then have to grab a Taxi from there. Has anyone ditched a tour half way through, obviously I would let the tour guide bus driver know so that they are not left waiting trying to find us. Is this possible?

If not any other suggestions for doing the zipline and touring some of the French side of the Island. I know we can go private to the zipline but there FAQs state that even if we show up when it opens, if they are expecting cruise ship bookings then we would have to wait until afterwards and they recommend privat partys come after 12 or 1 pm on week days. We are on the Oasis arriving 7am departing 5pm schedule.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

We have done this excursion. From what I recall, we rode on a narrated tour bus to the farm. It was in a secluded area, and I don't remember seeing any neighboring communities from where a taxi could come pick you up. However, I may be wrong. We were there in July, 2008.

We have wondered the same thing. Wondering how easy it would be to get a cab once at Loterie Farm....

We did this a few years ago. I didn't see any cabs around. Although, I guess some cabs would be coming and going to bring people not on cruise ships? Maybe you could get them to drive you where you want to go and then come back for their original people?

When we did it, we finished, had a drink and were ready to leave.

We hiked this park during a weeks stay at St Martin a few years ago when they were building the zipline. Very nice, except for the whampa whampa of the helicopter setting poles for the zipline!

Anyway: two things

1) ditching a tour- no problem at all, of course warn the tour guide so they don't fret. Often times we found the bus was willing to drop you somewhere else on the way back, so long as it's on the way. So you could ask about that on the way out. And you are right, there is a lot of Philipsburg traffic and it would be way out of the way, not to mention time consuming to go all the way back. The tour guides might even have a pal/BIL who drives a cab that they might call for you. Cabbies in St Martin are fair and friendly, just set a price beforehand.

2) at Loterie Farm there is a desk where they get everyone set up, ( and sell photos!)and a resteraunt, people come by cab all the time so if you ask them to call a cab for you, they would probably have no problem doing that. Marigot is close by Loterie Farm and you will find a cab from there back to the ship easily.

Enjoy St Martin!

I don't remember. But, we had our kids with us- ages ranging 10-17. So, probably the easier one. We absolutely loved it. Beautiful area!!

How were the zipline, can you remember how high, long, how many etc. What was the size of your group for the tour?

We did it a few years ago and it was superb. More like an obstacle course you won't be dissapointed. The farm arranged our transport for us. They picked us up nice and early so we were one of tbe first there. Email them and see if they can help you out. Kimberley
