Texas Hold 'em on Galaxy ??

Does the Galaxy offer Texas Hold 'em in the casino? We were on the Grand Princess out of Galveston over Thanksgiving and they had Texas Hold 'em almost around the clock.

I need to know where my husband will be!

I think this is relatively new in the casinos since they were having trouble figuring out how the house was going to make money. A friend of mine just got back from Vegas and they have it now. The house takes a percentage of the pot. I was on The Serenade in Feb. and they were not offering it yet. But with the popularity of the game I don't think it will be long. :D

They have had Texas Holdem and every other poker game in Vegas for decades.

I was a little surprised they had it on the Grand Princess but then again it is so popular now, it wasn't a surprise. They had three tables, one of which was up and running all of the time. At night the other two were filled and there was a wait list for a seat! I figured the Galaxy would have discovered the popularity of this being she and the Grand both sailing from Galveston but I guess not.

Doesn't surprise me a bit. Hold'em is popular and since ships have a captive audience and no regulation they can punch the rake way up there. I can imagine seeing 10% on a ship. If there are players who want to play, they'll figure out a rake that makes the line money off of hosting the game.

For those of who have seen poker in a ship's casino, do you know what they were raking? And just out of curiosity, do you know the structure of the game?

if not in the casino. On Connie & Infinity in 2004, we didn't see anything more than BJ, roulette, craps (1 table) & the wheel. Plenty of slots from a nickel to $50

Do a www.yahoo.com search for FREE POKER GAMES & there will be plenty that are free, have folks to play with & they are fun.........

My husband said they raked 10% on the Grand Princess this past Thanksgiving. He said it was approximate and that the dealer didn't count every chip - just took a quick look and took about 10%.

The structure on the Grand Princess was 2/4 unless there were a lot of people then it went up to 3/6.
