UNPRECEDENTED Oasis offer!

Recommended Posts
$99 for a kid. that is a bargain. In the US, prenatal care and delivery usually cost way more than that;).
One year when we when on a Disney cruise we were given a bounce back offer.

It was $99.00 per person on a 3 day cruise. How could we refuse a cheap Disney cruise at that price. But to make the cost of flying worth it we decided to book a 7 day cruise on the Freedom of the Seas. Oh, that was a fun year. 4 cruises for me! Yeah I caught the cruising bug that year.

I would happy if they would announce that they were taking off Dreamworks!

I know that this isn't in the majority, but I finally got my friends interested in cruising with us. Then they found out about Dreamworks and this soured the deal. I told them that it probably wouldn't be in their faces, but I don't know for sure.

We were on Allure last week and saw Fiona once in the whole week, not in your face at all

Oh well...Already booked in a neighborhood balcony in June. Would have been nice to get $100.

Not sure of your C&A level but this offer is combinable with nothing other than senior or resident rates....no groups....no C&A...no Next Cruise...no On-Board Booking Bonus....nada...it's really aimed for the first time RCCL cruiser.

Dreamworks is not the big deal it was made out to be on these boards when it was first announced. When we were on Oasis I saw the characters twice during the week. One time was during one of the street parades and the second was a time set aside for kids to have their pictures taken with the characters. It is usually announced where they will be appearing and it would be quite easy to avoid ever seeing them the entire week.

So it's pretty much worthless to anyone Diamond and up.

While I understand that these promotions are there to get bookings, it certainly doesn't help those of us that HAVE to book early and who have cruised with RCI before. We are a family of 5 that needs 3 cabins, usually in the configuration of a balcony and 2 PRs. Yes, it IS very expensive to book this way, but DH & I enjoy our balcony privacy on vacation and with 3 teens that are step-siblings of the opposite sex, it's just the way it has to be.

This means I am booking a year+ in advance, I booked our upcoming Oasis cruise at 400+ days out. There is NO WAY I could wait until after final payment to book, and if I tried to get the configuration that I want now, it wouldn't be available.

I wish RCI would allow ONE cancel/rebook per cruise in order to get some OBC. I can GUARANTEE the OBC you give me will be MORE than spent on the cruise.

I'd love to sail on either Allure or Oasis but the prices during school vacation times are prohibitive. They would have to come down a bit for me to book. I want to sail, but not at those prices

I guess each to his own. I was just thinking how spectacular that picture would be if it didn't have an Aqua Theatre in it.

That is exactly what I was thinking! I love just looking out at the water. I find it so peaceful and relaxing. It would not be the same having to look over the Aqua Theater to see the water.

No...it IS worthless to anyone diamond and up. Like I said before...it's becoming that your C&A balcony discount is becoming worthless when they just go ahead and promo the same off to Joe public as of late:rolleyes:

I totally agree, but I don't think we're ever going to win that battle. I always said the C&A balcony discount is something we worked toward but now that we're there we can't use anything else. They keep sending me money off coupons in the mail and they are worthless to us too because they're not combinable with the C&A discount. I still think that at least one other thing should be combinable with the C&A discount. The way it is now we really don't gain anything for loyalty. Now I'll stop talking about it since there was plenty of talk about it when RCCL made that new rule a few years back.

Don't you feel that these neighborhood rooms are more like promonade insides? Doesn't one of the Freedom class ships have balconies facing other balcony promonade rooms? It would make sense to price then similarly.

The promenade cabins don't have balconies.

Anyone have any idea as to why there is no 3rd and 4th person rates? Usually they are $799 or so, but I just tried to book 4 in any cabin category and the 3rd person rate was the same as the 1st and 2nd. Are they they trying to make you book more than one cabin?

Didn't you read the flyer? "Royal Caribbean LOVES Families!!!!"

Um, yeah, ok. They love families so much that they expect me to either pay an obscene amount for a 6 year old or they want me to put her in her own cabin.

They can keep their OBC. And they can keep their "unprecedented" joke offer.

I was just playing with the rates. We really do want to take the kids but even with this "offer", we'd go broke. I can see why many families choose Carnival due to sheer price alone. Honestly for these prices, I can book a 12 night Mediterranian cruise on Celebrity for next year.

WOW! I agree with all of you - those rates are obscene! For the heck of it I looked at Oasis 7/30 eastern for a family of 4. Only non-suite balcony option was D1 for $2025 each INCLUDING 3RD AND 4TH!!! $8533 with taxes/port fees!

But that family could book two B1 for ONLY  $6669 and get $400 OBC.

Yeah it's unprecedented all right - sheesh! And it is clearly aimed at families who are new to cruising and don't realize how obscene those prices are!

Having to book during peak times, we were fortunate to get a nice senior rate for our 5/28 Oasis western D4 with a pretty low rate for 3rd of $583 only because most kids will still be in school.

We love Royal but I'm afraid we might have to look elsewhere in the future if they continue with more of these unprecedented offers we can't afford.

The ONLY place that I see Royal really giving families/people a break is in military/fire/police....they have some of those rates slashed as much as 50% off:eek:...I know that we should all support our troops and such but when they are particularly targeting one group and discounting up to 50% from everyone else:confused: I guess at least we can all feel very safe on Oasis/Allure:D

Yes....that is exactly the idea. As it was explained is that there is a very high demand for triple and quad cabins leaving them in very short supply while many doubles stay available.....believe it or not they sound as if they were caught by surprise on this. How they think that offering families $100/pp off a 100% rate to book multiple cabins instead of just one cabin with a very discounted 3rd and 4th rate is going to do much is beyond me. I believe the answer has to be MUCH more....like let a family of 4 go into 2 cabins while still offering the normal discounted 3rd and 4th rate.

I believe that this new "UNPRECEDENTED" offer has a very short booking window because they are fishing for where they need to go price/promo wise to fill these ships this summer and will them adjust accordingly after they take a look at the booking response they get.

I disagree that you NEED 3 cabins. You may choose to book 3 cabin, but you only NEED 2. You could do a Guy's cabin & a Girl's cabin be just fine.
