Riga to Jurmala

Can anyone give me info on where to get a train to Jurmala, how long it takes and the cost? We are taking back to back cruises and will be here twice, so I am thinking Old Town and walk around one day and the beach the other. I am thinking it would be much cheaper to get to the beach on our own, rather than by ship's tour.

First of all: Welcome to Riga, Latvia!

 

It is very easy to get from Riga to Jurmala. Trains from Riga Central train station leave for Jūrmala every half hour. The average trip should take about 40 minutes. Look for trains to Dubulti, Sloka or Tukums and get out at the central stop Majori. A tourist information centre is just across the street.
