alternative dinning at a discount

I heard this about RCCL but haven't heard it about Princess' alternative restaurants. We did try this on RCCL and they were not offering it the first night we sailed.

I would be curious if anyone has dined the first night and received a discount.

We were on RCCL's Jewel of the Seas in Scandinavia last July. On the first night on board, we were walking past one of their specialty restaurants before our scheduled second seating. One of the restaurant staff was positioned outside the restaurant, urging passengers to dine there that night with the incentive of free wine. This was all the incentive we needed, and had a great dinner with free flowing wine. This was not repeated any other night.

I read somewhere that you can dine at Sabatinni's or Sterling's for half the price on the first night of the cruise. Is this correct ? Thanks for the info.

To my knowledge, this was not true in Sabatini's or the Bayou Cafe during our December Panama Canal cruise on the Coral Princess.
