Looking to book Epic for January 2013 - is it easier to drop or add passengers?

Recommended Posts

Husband and I definitely want to cruise Epic in January 2013 but we just don't know what the situation will be with our sons who will be 16 and 19 at that point. Our 19 yr old is a college athlete and may or may not be able to go and the 16 yr old would have to be pulled from school for that week. Currently the 3rd and 4th passenger is $199 (awesome!).

If we book for the two of us and then need to add them, we will probably have to change cabins as not all can hold 4. Is this likely to be a charge?

If we book for all 4 of us and then need to drop them, will we be moved out of the quad cabin?

If the 3rd & 4th passenger rate is $199, is that the default deposit rather than the $250 usual deposit?

How close to final payment can we add or drop them?

Thanks for any suggestions.

You can make any changes to your reservation up to 75 days before the cruise but you are subject to current rates and availabilty. The $199 fare might change later. You have to pay the deposit for 4, tho. If you are going to do it, NCL announced reduced deposits next Tuesday April 12, on the Epic (one day sale).

I would book as if your sons were going. It is easier to drop them then add since the ship may have reached it's maximum amount of passengers. The ship is only allowed to carry so many people even tho it may have empty beds on board so just because you book a room for 2 that has 4 beds, you may not be able to add people to those beds.

I'm not sure if you are thinking that the $199 is the total price and therefore would be paid in full during the deposit but don't forget the full taxes and fees will be added to the $199 price.
