shore excursions

Rent a motor scooter, drive into Philipsburg, walk around a bit seeing things you've read about in the guide books, drive to Marigot and see the excellent history museum, drive to Orient Beach for some fun in the sun, and head back towards the ship. You'll have time for sone more stop of your choosing.

I would recommend a taxi rather than a motor scooter for a tour of the island. The roads in St. Martin are narrow, shoulderless and have too many locals who drive carelessly.

As an alternative, St. Maarten's best excursion, one that is unique to the Caribbean is the America's Cup Regatta. Well worth your time and money.
