Christmas Cruising??

We're considering a holiday cruise as a group. My concern is that the 'children' are older teens; 15, 16, 17, all boys. Are they too old for this? Is this too much Disney? I know they have the teen area with video games etc. Anyone else traveled with older teens on Disney?

Thanks.

We were on the Christmas 2003 sailing and at the time our kids were 12 and 15 the older being a boy. They found kids their own age and their own things to do. They weren't "over Disneyed". My daughter still talks to and emails a friend from Virginia.

If you are considering a Christmas and want to keep in mind the enjoyment of the older teenagers you are traveling with I would suggest for going Disney alltogether and go on a Royal Caribbean cruise (voyager class) for christmas. I am 16 and just spent my christmas on mariner of the seas (a voyager class ship and my 2nd time on this ship) and i had the time of my life there were so many teens (as it is the 2nd biggest cruise ship in the world) and great activities on board and the RC onboard presents were a great addition. Im not sure how disney does christmas on a cruise ship but i will never forget the image of santa clause climbing out of the smoke stack and scaling the rock wall presents in tow.Even though disney has its charms for older teens they are much more likely to enjoy royal caribbean. Not only would you save money going on royal caribbean (because with disney your really just paying extra for the disney name not for the cruise experiance) but they have more to offer older teens such as rock climbing, ice skating, rollerblading ,shopping mall like promenades, nightly discos and much more that disney couldnt even compare when it comes to teens. Also your older teens might enjoy the fact that royal caribbean does not group teens 13-17 together as they are on disney since a 13 yr olds and a 16 yr olds idea of fun are a far cry from each other royal caribbean groups the 12-14 yr olds and the 15-17 yr olds and each group has their own seperate activities. I hope this information helps you with your cruise dilemma.

Thanks for the info (even if it was intended for someone else). We've always done Carnival at Christmas thinking it would be more in tune to teenagers than Royal, thank goodness I haven't booked yet. Cheryl
