Car Rentals - want a fun car, not the cheapest..where?

Recommended Posts

Hi!
I'll be in St. Martin for the Day on June 3. At first we wanted to rent scooters, then decided to just use taxis, but now I'm seriously considering renting a car for the day.

We want a 'fun' car. I checked with Unity, they have Mustang Convertibles, but they're booked. Can you give me the name of a reputable rental car agency that has fun vehicles AND will have a car ready at the cruise pier?

Open jeeps sound good, but I'd like to see what else is out there first. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!
Cindy

I'm not sure that you can be all that choosy. We saw a lot of rentals, but not that many jeeps or mustangs. Both looked like a lot of fun.

We heard a few people on our ship say all the jeeps were rented by the time our ship got to port. But I was pounced by several locals that morning in town while we were shopping who had jeeps to rent for around $80. If it were me, I think I would try and find a jeep now at the pier and book it.

I'd second beary's suggestion, we spoke with a couple at Orient who had rented a jeep for the day and they were having a blast. Just don't leave any valuables in it.

"These moments we’re left with - may you always remember
These moments are shared, by few
And those harbor lights, lord they’re coming into view
We’ll bid our farewells much too soon
So drink it up, this one’s for you -
Honey, it’s been a lovely cruise."
