Best Tour with Celebrity

We have booked many of our own tours but are thinking that maybe we might book Cartagena with Celebrity (on the Equinox)

 

If you were going to book a ship tour which one would you highly recommend? We would like to see the walled city, Fort, La Popa, the church etc. Understand to see things you do need to get a tour that is just not a walking one.

 

The private operator we were also looking at is Lee Miles, so if we decide to do a ship tour which one would be the best to see as much as we can.

Make sure that you look at the tour on X that allows for time inside the fort if that is what you want. I seem to rmember that one is more a drive by type tour. Read the fine details. lee Miles is rec here often . I'd compare the itierary and costs. Then look to see that you are in a van rather than a bus. The trip to La Popa is better for vans.

 

The old city is very neat and allow yourself at least 3 hours there if you want to wander the streets. We did only the old city and spent maybe 41/2 hours and that wasn't nearly the time we needed. ( we started our day too late:o) We didn't realize the area was so large. We also spent time in the Inquisition Museum with an English speaking guide we picked up there at the ticket counter. All the signs/expalantions are in Spanish, so you need the guide to get all the interesting stories.

 

A guide will build in shopping time if you want. Just set your itinerary ahead of time so you have time where you want it.

 

Beautiful city. Make sure you are on deck when you approach the city. It is surprisingly cool.
