Opinion please..Gem AFT SF -Deck 9 or 10

hi all..quick question...I booked for 2012 a few weeks ago..and automatically booked same room we had on Jewel in December..our first suite...THEN..I remembered..posts here about differences in SF's on decks 9 & 10-Question...on Gem...is it balcony size only (larger on 10) or anything else I should consider when comparing the two choices...?

I believe the balcony on deck 10 is larger than deck 9, so if I had a choice I would choose deck 10 just for that reason.

Just on the Gem a couple weeks ago. We had deck 9 and loved it. 3 decks up is food and sun, and the 3 decks below are more food and entertainment - so our whole world was 3 up and 3 down! We thought it was perfect.

Just booked deck 10 for Christmas 2012. Glad they changed these SF's to accomodate 4 people. I also think that deck 10's balcony is bigger.

The deck 10 balconies are a lot deeper than decks 8 or 9. There was plenty of room even with 2 loungers, chairs and an ottoman and a small table.

 

It's partially covered, but open to above when standing by the railing. We had plenty of sun and loved spending time sitting and relaxing with that great view.

I think once during the week, I noticed a french fry that had fallen near our balcony railing. But I absolutely loved having the big balcony. We spent lots of time on it during our Greek Island cruise last year and never had a noise problem. :)

We didn't experience any trash or noise at all. We loved all the room on the balcony and spent a good deal of time out there.
